Education services

Our multidisciplinary team undertake a thorough assessment of each child, enabling us to plan a highly personalised package of learning, tailored to their individual needs. Our focus is on providing a school experience that works for each child and young person, building their confidence and self-esteem so that they feel ready to engage with learning again.

Curriculum

At Sketchley Hall, we support Key Stage 2 and 3 students and follow the Primary Education model, whereby all primary specialist and core subjects are taught by the same Class Teacher. We focus heavily on teaching life skills, personal development and personal, social, health and economic (PSHE) education. Students also have access to a wide range of specialist therapeutic services, tailored to their individual needs.

On completion of Year 9, students transition onto Forest House, where we follow the Secondary Education model. Students are taught core subjects of English, maths and science, as well as a range of specialist subject areas, taught by specialist teachers.

Depending on the young person's interests, we can tailor education pathways to each individual. For example, academic learners may choose further GCSE's Options in a range of subject areas, such as, further science, art, history or psychology.

Students wishing to follow a more vocational pathway at post-16, may wish to attend one of the local colleges where they can choose from a range of A Levels BTEC Qualifications, such as:

    • Media
    • Construction
    • Painting and decorating
    • Mechanics
