Changes at Quay View School
The school grounds are currently undergoing some changes to ‘re-wild’ areas of cut lawn to reduce the environmental impact of petrol based equipment and to promote wildlife returning to the site. This will feature in the curriculum as part of science and environmental based studies, as well as outdoor education. There are also plans to have more outdoor play equipment and features around the site to promote learning outside of the classroom.
Additionally, the school is having a climbing wall installed in the school gym this summer. This will allow climbing to be accessible for all abilities in all weathers.
The school kitchen and dining room will be renovated over the summer providing a completely new space and layout. This is based on feedback from students who found the existing dining hall too noisy and as the numbers of students has increased, the space has become less and less appealing to many as a positive place to enjoy their lunch.
