Welcome to Quay View School, located in the village of Bere Alston in the beautiful Devonshire countryside. Our school offers bespoke education and care placements for children and young people aged 7-19 years with complex needs, including an autistic spectrum disorder (ASD), social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs and associated learning difficulties.
Unlocking potential in young people
Mainstream schools and a ‘one size fits all’ approach to education may not fully meet the needs of students with complex needs. Quay View School delivers specialist, personalised learning and support that enables young people to overcome their barriers and achieve their potential.
Our school is a warm and nurturing environment where students receive the support they need to develop emotionally and socially, and progress academically. It prepares the children and young people for a fulfilling future as active citizens who contribute positively to society. Learning is holistic and seeks to develop each young person as a whole. Our aim is to enable our students to progress and address their unique challenges, all within a caring and highly supportive therapeutic environment.
We have ambitious expectations for our students in all aspects of school life. We are dedicated to guiding young people every step of the way along their personalised learning journey, and supporting them to feel positive and hopeful about their future. With our specialist support, the young people in our care are empowered to build the social and independence skills that they need to make positive transitions to further learning or employment.
An idyllic and peaceful setting
Quay View School is based in a Grade 2 listed building located in the stunning Tamar Valley in Devon. Our peaceful and idyllic setting forms part of a UNESCO world heritage site and our extensive grounds provide opportunities for students to learn outside the classroom, be active, undertake therapy and relax.
