High quality residential placements
Our residential area is designed to provide a structured and homely environment for students where they are encouraged to reach their full potential. Our residential facilities have recently undergone considerable investment to ensure we provide our young people with a high quality environment where they feel safe and valued. Standout features include
- Quality robust furnishings
- Dimmer switches for those who are hypersensitive to light
- Payphones in private booths which children can use
- Young people are encouraged to personalise their bedrooms
- Communal spaces with TVs, Xbox, PlayStation, board games and sofas
- Young people are consulted on how they want communal spaces to be decorated
A varied activities timetable
Our young people help care staff to develop the activities timetable in our residential area. In our residential settings, students have weekly meetings where they make collective decisions about what activities they want to take part in. The result is a varied leisure programme which is built around our young people’s interests. Typically it will include a wide range of pursuits that young people can take part in during evenings and weekends, such as:
- Swimming
- Horse-riding
- Visiting local parks
- Scouts
- Chess club
- Local gym
- Christmas light display at Longleat Safari Park
- Organise trips and activities to local places of interest and theme parks
