North Hill House - Our Olympic GamesAs an end of term event, the pupils of North Hill House School were invited to take part in their own version of the Olympic Games.

Leading up to the event, there were themed days within the school so that pupils could learn the different flags and sample foods from the various countries taking part in the Rio Olympics. Pupils also had the chance to design posters and make their own Olympic torch.

On the day, there were lots of events for the pupils to take part in including football accuracy, egg and spoon racing and throwing beanbags into targets. Both pupils and staff took part in the events with the staff usually emerging a poor second! There was music to accompany the challenges, with the theme from the Champions League and the soundtrack from ‘Chariots of Fire’ being particular favourites (several of the staff and pupils were pretending to run in slow motion).

The event ended with a special presentation ceremony for the winners and those who showed the most enthusiasm whilst taking part, with prizes of water bottles for all participants. The weather was kind to us and everyone agreed that it was a fantastic, worthwhile tournament.
