Strathmore College’s residential manager also holds a teaching qualification. This demonstrates the high importance that we give to our residential provision. We believe that residential learning is just as much of an important part of a learner’s learning package as their education during the school day. Our residential homes aim to reinforce learners’ outcomes and support them to work towards their objectives.
For our residential learners, Strathmore College offers accommodation at two different sites, both well-integrated in the local community and available for up to 52 weeks per year.
The first home is a two-bedroom terraced house around ten miles away from the college. This is well suited for our young people who are looking for more independent living and is close to public transport links.
The second home comprises eight single bedrooms and two self-contained one-bedroom apartments. The apartments provide a good option for our learners who are used to living by themselves and having their own space but still need support. This home is situated around three miles from Strathmore College and, again, is well-connected thanks to nearby local transport links.
Learners looking for residential placements with us will be assessed and the college will decide which home they are best suited to, based on need and the level of support they require.
