Moor Field House

About Moor Field House

Moor Field House is located on the outskirts of a small village in Derbyshire. The children’s home supports three children and young people aged 8-18 years with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, as well as behaviours that may challenge. The children’s home is also rated ‘Good’ overall by Ofsted, with ‘Outstanding’ features.

Supporting the needs of the young people

The children and young people at Moor Field House will usually have experienced family separation, repeated placement breakdown, neglect, abuse and trauma. They may also show confusion, a distorted view of life and present challenging, anti-social behaviour.

The aim at Moor Field House is to provide a safe, nurturing and valuing environment. The service consists of qualified, skilled practitioners and is designed to meet the needs of the individual, through daily living experiences and activities that are personal to them.

Moor Field House has a sister home called Moor Farm Cottage, and the two homes have the same registered manager but their own deputy house managers. The team also consists of two senior team leaders, two deputy team leaders, child care officers and waking night staff. Both of the homes work closely with each other and have one staff team that covers both of the services. This improves the level of support for the young people and staff, enabling more opportunities and different surroundings.
