Linden House

Welcome to Linden House

Linden House Children’s Home opened in May 2011. It is registered by Ofsted to accommodate up to 7 young people of either gender, usually ranging in age from 8-19 years old. Young people residing at Linden House will have a diagnosis of a learning disability, which may include autistic spectrum disorder, dyspraxia, and may display challenging behaviour. Young people will have a Statement of Special Educational Needs or Education or Health and Care Plan (EHCP) as a result of their difficulties.

Our approach

Linden House provides a safe, homely, welcoming, relaxed, yet structured environment, which encourages young people to develop social, educational and practical skills and to enjoy an active and fulfilling life.

Our focus

Linden House has an experienced staff team who provide the young people with positive role models and the support and understanding they require. Staff are able to communicate with the young people in their preferred method, which include PECS and Makaton.

Our values

Linden House places high value on relationships with and between young people and staff and it is these relationships that are central to the work that is undertaken with the young people. This work might include supporting young people in education; encouraging them to attend local clubs and activities; ensuring all health needs are met; helping them develop skills for independent living; building resilience; increasing self-esteem; and equipping them with the knowledge and ability to keep themselves safe.
