Our staff team

Clare Drury, Head of School

I trained as a secondary school teacher in 2008, having previously worked as a tax analyst in London. Moving to Chelmsford Hospital School in 2016 was the best thing I could have done. I am passionate about the education and opportunities that we provide at our school and I am extremely proud of the outstanding progress that is consistently made by our students.

Emma Walsh, Senior Teacher and Careers Lead

I am the Senior Teacher in charge of English and Careers at Chelmsford Hospital School. I have been teaching since 2016 and I am extremely passionate about my subject. I attended both London Metropolitan University and Goldsmiths University to gain my qualifications.

I have taught in lots of different schools and taken on lots of different roles in my time which has given me invaluable knowledge to bring to this school. I love all things to do with the Arts whether it be music, film, literature or even dance. In my free time, you would find me going to see live music or going on long walks with my dog Ripley.

Emma Harris, Head of Maths and Health and Wellbeing Lead

I have worked as the Head of Maths and the Health and Wellbeing teacher at the Chelmsford Hospital School since 2019. I have enjoyed encouraging students to develop new skills and to overcome barriers they have with their learning.

I have been teaching since 2010 and have worked in mainstream schools and outdoor education centres. Working in mental health is extremely rewarding and I am currently studying mental health and wellbeing in education to compliment my role at Chelmsford Hospital School.

Paige Livings, Teaching Assistant

I am the Teaching Assistant at Chelmsford Hospital School and have worked here since 2018. Prior to this role, I worked in SEN and SEMH schools since 2013.

I have achieved a BA Honours in Childhood and Youth Studies as well as certificates and training in Understanding Autism. I pride myself on being organised, tidy and efficient.

Rocket Drury, School Dog

I have been coming into Chelmsford Hospital School since 2021 when I was 4 months old. I always have the best time when I am here! I am very friendly and I love cuddles. Running around in the courtyard is my most favourite thing.
