Every opportunity for learning is capitalised upon across 24 hours in the life of our school in order to emphasise the development of appropriate social behaviours and personal skills. We equip our young people to develop their confidence, independent thinking and to have a positive ‘can do’ attitude. We promote the achievement and attainment of our young people and believe that a positive educational experience will enable them to develop as citizens.
By using a variety of resources in the community our young people have access to additional opportunities to practice and rehearse these vital skills in real-life settings.
The Curriculum for Excellence promotes learning beyond the classroom. Daily activities such as tending to the bird feeders, growing and eating strawberries and undertaking household tasks positively develop our young people’s capacities and help them to gain the necessary skills for life and work.
